Thank You!

We received this marvelous piece of mail this morning at the library. We were all very happy to hear that young Mr. Zarkowski found just the right costume for Halloween this year at last month’s giveaway!

A huge thank you once again goes out to event organizers Lauren Zimmerman, Maria James, Lindsay Thomas, and Heather Krebs for putting together this initiative and for volunteering their time and effort to ensure kids all across the community feel the same way! 👻🎃😈🤖

Free passes for the whole family to visit Bloomsburg Children’s Museum are also still available to check out from the library!

Day passes are valid for general admission only and do not cover special events/programs, classes, or workshops hosted at the museum. These passes can be checked out for 1 week and then are to be promptly returned to the library just like a book.

Local Author & Artist Visiting Library Tomorrow (10/19/24)

Just a reminder that tomorrow morning at the library local artist and author Bob McCormick will be joining us to discuss his most recent publication. Starting at 10 AM, you’ll have the chance to meet Mr. McCormick and learn about his book “Reclamation: From Coal Dust to Hope” which depicts life in our region from the 19th century through today! ⚒🎨🚂

Special Halloween Parade Hours

Next week on Tuesday (10/22) the library will be open special hours that will differ from our regular Tuesday/Thursday evening hours due to the Shamokin Halloween Parade starting at 6 PM. We will instead be open from 9:30AM-5PM so please keep this in mind if you need to grab books, movies, or use the computer that day.

Throughout the parade, representatives from the library will be outside the building handing out bags of candy until we run out!

Learning About Ourselves

Earlier in the week Bloomsburg Children’s Museum visited the library for our monthly STEM adventure! This time around we learned all about the human body, the essential organs, and what role each of them play in the overall process of sustaining life. As a visual aid, everyone got to piece together a “life size you” to take home.

As always, thank you to Bloomsburg Children’s Museum for helping us make engaging and educational opportunities like this possible!
