St. Patrick’s Children’s Craft

In partnership with the Northumberland County Council for the Arts & Humanities, the library will be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day themed craft for children this coming Saturday (March 5th) at 10 AM. Whether you choose to make a shamrock suncatcher or a jolly leprechaun figurine, you’ll undoubtedly be lucky enough to have a festive decoration to take home with you just in time for the coming holiday! This is a free event though we do ask that children are signed up ahead of time. Sign your child up this coming week either at the library circulation desk or over the phone at 570-648-3202.

Harry J. Dietz, Jr. Book Signing

The Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library will be hosting Harry Dietz, Jr. on March 19th (10 AM) for a book signing of his recent publication “Our Father’s Journey: A Path Out of Poverty”. The library is currently selling copies of the book for $16.99 (plus tax) at the circulation desk. Be sure to pick up your own personal copy and have your questions ready for the author on March 19th!

Yoga at the Library!

We would like to thank Toni Ditzler for bringing her yoga expertise to the library! In addition to being introduced to yoga poses designed to instill confidence and bravery, each child also had the opportunity to create a raccoon puppet to take home with them. We hope to have Toni visit the library again sometime soon!

President’s Day Reminder

Don’t forget that the library be closed this coming Monday (2/21) in honor of President’s Day. We will resume regular hours of operation the following day. For those that frequently attend Preschool Storytime & Movement on Monday mornings, we will see you all next week on February 28th!

Yoga with Toni for Younger Audiences

Looking to balance your mind and body at the library after school? On Thursday, February 24th at 5 PM Toni Ditzler will be leading an evening of yoga and storytelling designed for younger audiences. For those in the 5-12 age range, this is a great opportunity to learn a few yoga poses that instill confidence and bravery! No fee or sign up required.
