Back to School with Pete the Cat!

Join us at the library for Preschool Storytime & Movement tomorrow (8/26) at 10 AM. Although summer is winding down and a lot of older siblings have headed back to school, we’ll still be here with stories, songs, crafts, and snacks every Monday morning!

Our story for tomorrow will be “Pete the Cat: Too Cool for School” since it’s already that time of year again. Following our songs, we’ll get to do some coloring and even get to pick out what color shirt Pete should wear as he catches the reading wave!

Cookbook Book Club Coming Up (8/26/24)

Just a reminder that Cookbook Book Club will be meeting at the library this Monday (8/26) at 6 PM to share and discuss dishes featuring either chocolate or oatmeal as a key ingredient! Everyone is encouraged to bring a prepared dish from their own recipe collection or one selected from our many local cookbooks. For additional info or to sign up, stop by the library or give us a call!

“Bee Can” Kid’s Craft

The library was abuzz with “bee cans” this morning at our latest kid’s crafting event. Using mostly recycled materials and everyone’s individual creativity, it wasn’t long before we had bees buzzing about overhead!

As always, thank you to our partners at the Northumberland County Council For the Arts & Humanities for helping us make recurring programs like this possible. Be sure to keep an eye out for more kid’s crafts at your local library as summer turns to fall!

All Your Summer Reads!

Looking to grab a fun read but are short on time to browse the stacks as you usually would? No worry, you’ll find lots of summer fiction titles currently on display near the front desk so you can easily grab and go. If you’re a reader on the younger side, head upstairs and catch all your “back to school” favorites in one handy spot!

Robotic STEM Adventure!

Earlier this week Bloomsburg Children’s Museum visited the library for our monthly STEM adventure. Learning about radio waves and getting to build small FM sets to take home as originally planned has been rescheduled for next month’s lesson/project, so keep an eye out for that coming up later in September!

This time around, we instead got to work with robot cars that could be programmed through laying out color coded squares with each shade communicating a command to the robot like to perform a spin or change its direction. As always, thank you to Bloomsburg Children’s Museum for helping us make engaging and educational opportunities like this possible!

Mahjong Every Wednesday

Some of our regular Mahjong players this afternoon at the library. Mahjong for Beginners is held every Wednesday from 1-3 PM at the library and is a great opportunity for adults to learn something new!

STEM Program Tomorrow (8/20/24)

Just a reminder that tomorrow evening at 6 PM Bloomsburg Children’s Museum will be making their monthly visit to our library. This time around, we’ll be learning all about radio waves and even making our own FM radios to take home! To sign up for this free event, either stop by the library or give us a call at 570-648-3202.

Preschool Storytime & Movement

This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read “In My Garden” which was a colorful pop-up book about all the animals that live together outside in the garden including snails, bees, butterflies, ants, and even some frogs literally hopping off the page! 🐌🌼🐸

After enjoying the book and singing our regular songs, everyone got to assemble a garden of their own featuring colorful cutouts of all the different animals from the story. And of course like always, our morning together at the library wrapped up with a tasty snack! 🐛🌺🦋

Every Monday Morning at the Library

Join us at the library for Preschool Storytime & Movement tomorrow morning at 10 AM! While Summer Reading festivities may be over for the season until next year, our Monday morning program for little ones runs all year round.

Tomorrow’s story will be “In My Garden” which is a colorful pop-up book about all the different animal friends you might meet in the garden accompanied by a “build your own garden” craft after song time! 🌻🦋
