STEM Program Next Week

This coming Tuesday (8/20) at 6 PM Bloomsburg Children’s Museum will be making their monthly visit to our library. This time around, we’ll be learning all about radio waves and making our own FM radios to take home! To sign up for this free event, either stop by the library or give us a call at 570-648-3202.

Summer Reading 2024 Comes to a Close

We had a splendid time at our Summer Reading 2024 wrap-up party yesterday morning! The festivities included ice cream, photobooth station for souvenir photos, all different kinds of balloon creatures thanks to Andy Weaver, games, music, and lots of tasty food.

We extend a huge thank you to the Shamokin Area Educators Association for their generous support as well as local resident Jack Richford. Having such strong overall community support has allowed the library and its reach to grow so much and for that we are so very thankful!

Hats off to everyone that completed their reading log week to week in order to retain reading and comprehension skills over the summer break while earning free books for their home library along with other incentive prizes. Additionally, congrats to all the lucky winners of tablets, scooters, and hoverboards! Thank you to everyone for coming along on the adventure with us at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library this summer!

Summer Reading 2024 Final Day & Party

Join us for Summer Reading Week 6 at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library. Tomorrow morning (8/14) is our final session for the summer where we’ll be celebrating all of the adventures we had together!

Just like previous weeks, registration/sign in will start at 9:30 AM when the library opens. If you completed your reading log and/or Summer Reading Bingo Card, please be sure to show it to us when checking in so that you can enter your name one last time to possibly win a tablet or one of the grand mystery prizes!

Preschool Storytime & Movement

This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read “I Am (Not) Scared” which was about how sometimes being scared isn’t quite as “scary” as you may’ve thought. Following our regular songs and getting to color a bear like the ones from the story, we wrapped up the morning with a tasty snack like always!
