It’s all aboard for “Exploration Station” Family STEM Night tomorrow evening (7/30) anytime from 5-7 PM! Magna-Tiles, marble runs, strategy games, and many other exciting additions to our growing collection of educational and entertaining activities will be waiting for you at the library!

This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read a nonfiction book titled “Slinky, Scaly Snakes!” which told us all about what different snakes can look like, where they may live, and how they move around in such a unique way. After our regular songs we sat down to craft some paper chain snakes, many of which turned out very colorful!

Just a reminder that Pinochle Club is held upstairs at the library every Monday afternoon from 1-3 PM. Whether you’ve been playing for years or are interested in learning, feel free to join us Monday!

Last week as part of the Adventure Crafts program, everyone was given a “mystery bag” filled with randomized crafting supplies to work with and encouraged to let their imaginations lead the way. While each completed project shined in its own right, we thought we’d give special recognition to a few that really stood out to us! Award categories included silliest, most colorful, most creative, and a few others.
Prior to this week’s ZooAmerica program, be sure to complete your reading log by reading 20 minutes a day for at least 5 days in order to receive either a free book or an item from the prize box along with another chance to enter your name to win an Amazon Fire tablet on the last day! Also continue working on your Summer Reading Bingo cards and be sure to show us your progress week to week.
Each time you get bingo, you can enter your name into a separate drawing for a grand mystery prize that we’ll also be giving away during our last session together in August. We hope to see everyone this Wednesday (7/31) for ZooAmerica!

Summer Reading Week 3 is now officially in the books following our journey through the imaginative world of Adventure Crafts! To start off the morning, Ms. Terri led the group through some music and movement to help everyone get into that adventurous spirit and creative zone. Given an individual “mystery bag” filled with randomized crafting supplies to work with, everyone then let their imagination lead the way which resulted in so many unique creations!
Between now and next Wednesday morning’s ZooAmerica program, be sure to complete your reading log by reading 20 minutes a day for at least 5 days in order to receive either a free book or an item from the prize box next week. If you’re not quite reading on your own yet, reading with a parent/guardian or being read to also counts!
Each week you complete the log and bring it back to us, you’ll have the chance to enter your name to win an Amazon Fire tablet on the last day! Also continue working on your Summer Reading Bingo cards and be sure to show us your progress week to week.

Join us for Summer Reading Week 3 at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library! Tomorrow morning (7/24) we will be embarking on an Adventure Crafts program that will feature several activities/project stops along the trail that’ll give everyone the chance to get creative and use their imaginations. These will include paper chain snakes and much more!
Just like last week, registration/check-in will start at 9:30 AM and then the program will begin promptly at 10 AM. If you completed the reading log, please be sure to show it to us when checking in so that you can get a sticker for your log and the chance to enter our grand prize tablet raffle from which several lucky winners will be drawn at the end of our time together next month.
After our trek through the world of Adventure Crafts and of course grabbing a hearty trail snack, all those that completed their reading for the week will be able to select a free book to add to their home library or something snazzy from the prize box. We hope to see you all tomorrow morning for our next adventure together at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library!

Be sure to check out our new and always growing bilingual book section for young readers upstairs at the library the next time you pass through!
