Egg Hunt & Easter Bunny Visit

We hope everyone had a splendid time at the library’s egg hunt yesterday morning! Eggs were found, lots of candy was enjoyed of course, and everyone got a festive bracelet on the way out.

This year’s event was made extra special thanks to the VIP guests we had in attendance, Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunny. We’re so glad they hopped and stopped by the library to visit, take pictures, and dance with us all throughout the morning! 🐰🥕🥚🧺🌷

Egg Hunt Reminder

Don’t forget that the library’s Egg Hunt is tomorrow morning at 10 AM! Like in previous years, the kids will be split into two groups (ages 2-5 or grades K-3) in order to keep things fair. There’s no need to sign up for this event, simply bring your basket/bag and be ready to hunt.

And as an extra special added bonus this year, Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunny will be in attendance and I’m sure will want to visit with all the little bunnies! 🐰🥕🥚🧺

Upcoming Library Fundraiser

While Raise the Region has come and gone, here’s another great opportunity to support your library!

Soup Wars will be held again this year to benefit Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library. This time around the soup and soupie contest will be held at Wayside Inn Sports Bar on Saturday, March 23 with all registration beginning at 10 AM.

Soups can be registered from 10AM-12PM, must be at least 1 gallon of soup, no chili, judging will begin at 1 PM, and the top 3 soups will be awarded. Soup sales will begin immediately after judging!

Soupies can be registered from 10AM-3PM, must be sliced, judging will start at 3:30 PM with the top 3 being awarded, and sales will begin after judging.

Soup/soupie sponsors are welcomed and may fall into golden ($100), silver ($50), or bronze ($25) ladle categories. Even if you choose not to sponsor, donations are always greatly appreciated! All Soup Wars info plus sponsor/donation forms can be picked up at the library.

Good luck to everyone and thank you so much for supporting Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library!

Getting Crafty at the Library

Earlier this week at the library we held our second adult crafting session of the year. The project this time around was a pressed flower jar complete with real lights, a sure way to add a welcomed warm glow to evenings as daylight fades away!

As always, a big thank you goes to our partners at the Northumberland County Council for the Arts for helping us bring programs like this to life for the community!

Raise the Region 2024

Don’t forget that Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library will be participating in this year’s annual “Raise the Region” online giving campaign that kicks off this evening!

Raise the Region 2024 officially begins later today at 6:00 PM and ends at 11:59 PM on March 14. For a donation to be counted, it must be made through www.raisetheregion.org during the 30 hour giving period. There is a $25 minimum amount but no maximum amount for donations.

Your contribution greatly helps local organizations like the library in creating a more vibrant and engaging community space that welcomes all!

With a Little Luck

This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read “The Luckiest St. Patrick’s Day Ever!” before singing our regular songs. After that, everyone got to decorate a shamrock and we wrapped up our time together by enjoying some green frosted treats!
