Halloween Costume Drive Brings Community Together

Thank you to everyone in and around the Shamokin/Coal Township area that donated Halloween costumes this morning. In just a few short hours, hundreds of costumes were collected that will be given away next year ensuring everyone gets the chance to celebrate in style!

Thank you again to Lauren Zimmerman and Maria James for putting together this amazing event!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Not long after carving the turkey and sitting down to share a hearty Thanksgiving feast with Mrs. Clause and the elf squad up at the North Pole, Santa will be making the trek southward to visit us at the Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library!

Santa will be visiting the library next Saturday, November 25 from 10AM-12PM and a beaded holiday children’s craft will also be available onsite with help from our friends at the NCCA. Mark your calendars, make your lists, and be sure to stop by for a visit with Santa next Saturday at the library!

LEGO Club at the Library

We had a great group full of creativity and imagination yesterday evening at LEGO Club! Since the library will be closed next Thursday for Thanksgiving, the final two dates for LEGO Club in 2023 will be December 14 & 28 from 5-7 PM. We hope to see everyone next month and beyond!

Costume Drive This Saturday (11/11/23)

As a reminder, your child’s Halloween costume now has another chance to be worn and loved all over again next year! Please consider donating new or gently used costumes so that as many children as possible throughout our community can have the chance to dress up next year.

Halloween costumes can be dropped off at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library on Saturday, November 11 from 10 AM to 12 PM and will be given away next fall. This incredibly thoughtful effort has been organized by local business owner Lauren Zimmerman and Shamokin Area teacher Maria James. For more information please call 570-898-3921.

Preschool Storytime & Movement at the Library

Yesterday morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read “Five Flying Turkeys” and later everyone got to color a turkey of their own. We also celebrated a 4th birthday with some tasty cupcakes!

Preschool Storytime & Movement is held at the library every Monday morning starting at 10 AM and always features a story, songs, craft, and a snack!
