This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read “Pete the Cat: Too Cool for School” since it’s that time of the year again. Library volunteer Chris Backes was our special reader this morning and we’d like to thank her for reading the story and for frequently assisting us with this program week to week!

Don’t forget that Book Bingo is starting back up again this evening at 6 PM. Remember that even if you don’t win any rounds of bingo, you’ll still be able to pick out a book of your choice to take home!

Yesterday evening at STEM we explored the world of circuitry and how every little piece works together to power our daily lives. As always, thank you to Bloomsburg Children’s Museum for helping us bring educational opportunities like this into the community!

Just a reminder that the library is offering our patrons this fantastic new opportunity! The Museum Cultural Pass program is part of Lewisburg Children’s Museum’s “Count Me In” initiative and provides free admission to the museum.
The Cultural Pass waives all admission fees for the whole family (4 people max, children age 2 and below are always free) at a time. Passes are valid for general admission only and do not cover special events/programs, classes, or workshops hosted at the museum. The pass can be checked out for 1 week and then is to be promptly returned to the library just like you’d check out and return a book. Please be sure to return the pass in a timely manner so that as many families as possible can take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to explore, learn, and grow!

Come out to the library Thursday evening (8/17) for Book Bingo starting at 6 PM! This free event where rounds of bingo are played and the prizes are books is starting back up again after most of the summer off. Even if you don’t win any rounds, you’ll still be able to pick out a book of your choice to take home!

Free passes for the whole family to Bloomsburg Children’s Museum are available at the library!

**REMINDER** Join us this Tuesday (8/15) at 6 PM for our next STEM programming event brought to us by Bloomsburg Children’s Museum. At this month’s event we will be working with snap circuit kits to introduce basic engineering, electronics and circuitry concepts. To sign up for this free event targeted for ages 6-13, sign up either at the library or email us at shamokincoallibrary@gmail.com!

With school soon starting back up again for many of our frequent Monday morning storytime goers, we thought we’d cap off the summer with a story all about going to school accompanied by a school bus craft!

We had a splendid time at our Summer Reading wrap-up party! The morning included an ice cream bar, balloon animals, and a photobooth with all sorts of props amongst various other fun activities.
Congratulations to all those who did their reading week to week in order to earn books for their home library and other incentive prizes. Thank you to everyone for coming along this summer!
