Join us at the library this Saturday, May 6 at 10 AM for a Mother’s Day card making craft! While this is a free event, we do ask that children are signed up ahead of time. We’ve got all the card making supplies here at the library, so stop by or give us a call at 570-648-3202 to reserve your spot!

Open House & National Library Week

Thank you to everyone that joined us yesterday afternoon for our annual open house event celebrating National Library Week. Every April this special occasion acts as a fine way to remind the community about everything our library has to offer in the form of materials, services, programming events, and more. For those that were visiting for the very first time or for the first time in awhile, we hope to see you all again soon!

Celebrating National Library Week!

This week (April 23-29) is National Library Week and we encourage everyone to stop by their local library wherever that may be. Be it big or small, public libraries are an invaluable resource for any community as they offer free and equal access to materials, provide a variety of information services, and are a window to the world all around us.

Tomorrow afternoon we will be holding our annual open house event from 3-5 PM where you can come by and learn about everything that’s going on at our very active library. Even if you can’t stop by tomorrow, always feel free to pay us a visit and check out everything the library has to offer!

Celebrating Earth Day at the Library

This morning we celebrated Earth Day together at the library! Everyone got to paint a planet Earth ornament and craft a blue and green windsock to take home. A very special thank you goes to the Northumberland County Council for the Arts for partnering with the library for events like this, especially members Jeanne Shaffer and Joyce Sickora. Check out everyone’s Earth Day crafts down below!

Thank You Shamokin Area Elementary School

We would like to thank Shamokin Area Elementary School for inviting the library to take part in their spring book fair yesterday evening. This was a wonderful opportunity to spread the word about everything that’s going on and coming up at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library. We’re also happy to share that over 30 children signed up for library cards, including the pair pictured below!
