Upcoming STEM Program Reminder

**REMINDER** Next week the library will be hosting Bloomsburg Children’s Museum again on Tuesday, October 4th at 6 PM.

In this free class, students (ages 6-13) will learn about simple circuits and will make an anglerfish portrait that actually lights up! This illuminating and educational project can then be taken home. Sign up soon either at the library or by calling 570-648-3202.

Halloween Children’s Craft & Candy Bucket Decorating Next Week

Join us at the library just 1 week from today (October 8th) at 10 AM for a Halloween themed children’s craft and the chance to decorate and personalize your very own candy bucket that can be used for trick-or-treating!

All materials will be provided at this free event though we do ask that children are signed up ahead of time. Registration can be done either at the library’s front desk or by calling 570-648-3202.

Canning Class Hosted by Library

We hope that everyone who attended the Water Bath and Atmospheric Steam Canning class yesterday evening was able to pick up some new tips that can be used at home for years to come. The library would like to thank instructor Samantha Zlotorzynski from the Penn State Extension team and Sandy and Willie from Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church for allowing us to use their facility for this canning class.

October Book Bingo Dates

Come out to the library in October for Book Bingo! All ages are welcome at this free event where rounds of bingo are played and the prizes are books. Best of all, even if you don’t win any rounds you’ll still be able to go home with a book of your choice to keep!

Book Bingo will be held October 11 (Tuesday) and October 27 (Thursday) with both sessions kicking off at 6 PM.

STEM Programming at the Library

The library would like to thank Bloomsburg Children’s Museum for helping us to put on yet another STEM program for students! This time around, the program focused on laser cutting custom puzzle designs and we were able to utilize the library’s Glowforge machine to make students’ designs come to life. Additionally, we also had the chance to explore the world of snap circuits.

Join us again in less than 1 week on Tuesday, October 4th at 6 PM for our next STEM programming event at the library! Sign up ahead of time either at the library or by calling 570-648-3202.
