Library Closed Good Friday (4/15/22)

On this coming Monday (4/18), a group of students from Bucknell University will be holding an event at the library designed to provide informational materials to residents in Shamokin/Coal Township about the benefits of weatherization and energy efficiency. The program will start at 2:30 PM and is a free event.

We had a surprise egg hunt this morning to close out our weekly Preschool Storytime & Movement program! Although the library will be closed Good Friday (4/15) we will be open regular hours on Saturday and Monday. So if you’ve got a little one, come see us for a story, songs, crafts, and snacks on Monday morning at 10 AM!

We hope everyone who attended the children’s craft yesterday had a delightful time! Those who attended were able to take home both a festive yarn chick and a bunny in a flower pot. A huge thank you goes to the NCCAH as our partners in making events like this possible.
We are very thankful for the wonderful turnout as it was a perfect way to wrap up National Library Week!

**REMINDER** Join us at the library tomorrow evening at 5 PM for a children’s craft program. This time we’ll be making spring themed items including chicks made from yarn and cute little bunnies that have taken a tumble into a flower pot!
Crafting programs like this are made possible through the library’s partnership with the Northumberland County Council for the Arts & Humanities.

We’d like to congratulate Hudson Knapick, the latest honoree of the library’s new “Birthday Book Club” initiative! This donation in honor of Hudson’s birthday was made by his grandparents, Sue “Mimi” and Bill “Pap Pap” Knapick of Coal Township.
The “Birthday Book Club” is a wonderful way for moms and dads, grandparents, or anyone who has a special child in their life to celebrate a birthday while also supporting the library. Once a book is purchased, a book plate inside the book will indicate both the name of the child and the donor. For more information on this initiative, please contact the library at 570-648-3202.
