This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read “Little Miss Spider at Sunny Patch School” since a new school year just started not too long ago. After enjoying the book and our regular songs, everyone got to color a little portrait of Miss Spider.
As a special surprise treat this morning, someone brought in a nifty worm for show-and-tell that we all got to take a good look at!

New and gently used costumes will be available (1 per child) while supplies last from 10AM-12PM at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library. For all those who participated in the Northumberland County Council for the Arts and Humanities trash can lid painting contest, please pick up your lid from the library if you haven’t already done so!
Some of our regular Mahjong players yesterday afternoon at the library. Mahjong for Beginners is held every Wednesday from 1-3 PM at the library and is a great opportunity for adults to learn something new!
We hope everyone enjoyed the return of Book Bingo yesterday evening at the library! If you missed us last night but are interested, this is a free program open to all that’s held the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month at 6 PM. Even if you don’t win any rounds, everyone still gets to pick out a book to take home no matter what!
Besides books and movies being available to win, the evening also featured some extra special and spooky mystery prizes. Catch us again or for the very first time at Book Bingo later this month on Thursday, September 19 at 6 PM upstairs at the library!

Did you know that September is Library Card Sign-Up Month?
Signing up for a free library card at our library is easier than ever before! So long as an individual is at least 3 years of age and is a resident of Northumberland County, the only other things required are two forms of identification and a parent/guardian for those under 18.
Book Bingo is back again! Starting tomorrow (9/3) evening at 6 PM, this popular event for all ages will be returning to the library following a break over the summer. Remember that even if you don’t win any rounds, you’ll still be able to pick out a book to take home!
Just a reminder that Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library will be closed tomorrow (9/2) for Labor Day. May everyone have a safe and enjoyable holiday!
