Just a reminder that Book Bingo will be held tomorrow evening (4/18) at 6 PM upstairs at the library. Even if you don’t win any rounds, you’ll still be able to pick out a book of your choice to take home!

Earlier this evening at the library everyone had the chance to build vibrating motor powered cars, complete with feathers in some cases! Through the lesson and the project, we got to learn about simple circuits and how vibrating propulsion systems work.
As always, thank you to Bloomsburg Children’s Museum for helping us bring educational programs like this into the community!

Don’t forget that Mahjong for Beginners is held every Wednesday at the library from 1-3 PM and is a great opportunity for adults to learn something new while also meeting people from all over the community!

Thank you Shamokin Area Elementary School for inviting us to your book fair yesterday evening to get the word out about everything going on at the library both now and into the summer months ahead.
Congratulations on signing up for a library card Mrs. Bias!

This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read “Not Yet, Yeti” which was all about patience and having the ability to wait. After singing our regular songs, everyone got the chance to color a yeti of their own to take home!
Preschool Storytime & Movement is held every Monday morning at 10 AM upstairs at the library.

Don’t forget that tomorrow (4/16) at 6 PM at the library there will be another STEM program brought to us by Bloomsburg Children’s Museum. This time around we will be building cars powered by vibrating motors so some racing may be in order after the project is complete!
To sign up for this free and educational event that’s designed with ages 6-13 in mind, you can visit us at the library or contact us at 570-648-3202 or shamokincoallibrary@gmail.com.

This past week in celebration of National Library Workers Day, the Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library Board of Trustees provided a wonderful catered meal and dessert for all library employees and dedicated volunteers. From all of us, thank you to our Board of Trustees for supporting all of our efforts and work! ![]()

Saturday morning at the library we had lots of fun together making mason bee homes in celebration of Earth Day which is coming up soon! Working with only recycled and biodegradable materials, everyone constructed a bee home and of course got to decorate the exterior as well as waterproof it so the design will last through the season.
As always, a very big thank you goes to our partners at the Northumberland County Council For The Arts and Humanities for helping us make recurring programs like this possible!

We had a very enthusiastic group of builders and lots of new faces this past week at LEGO Club. Catch us again for another Thursday evening of creativity and fun later this month on April 25 anytime from 5-6:30 PM upstairs at the library!

Earlier this week at the library we got to learn about the phases of the moon (right after the big eclipse!) prior to mixing together our own batch of glow in the dark puffy paint to illuminate the varying phases of the moon.
