Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library will be closed today. We will reopen tomorrow at 9:30 AM.

Join us next week on Tuesday, February 20 at 6 PM for this month’s STEM program brought to us by Bloomsburg Children’s Museum! This month the lesson/activity is “Cupcake Chemistry” where we’ll learn about how microwaves work and how different ingredients react when cooked!

This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we had a nice big party for Valentine’s Day! We kicked off the special occasion by reading “Slug in Love” followed by our usual songs. After that, it was time to decorate hearts and wrap up our time together by enjoying lots of tasty cupcakes, cookies, candies, and more!

This morning at the library we had lots of fun together painting ceramic hearts just in time for Valentine’s Day! Between red, white, and pink paints to choose from and lots of markers on hand to help give each heart their own spunky personality, everyone took home a project that was uniquely their own.

As always, a very big thank you goes to our partners at the NCCA for helping us make recurring programs like this possible!

We had a very energized bunch this evening at LEGO Club. Catch us again for another Thursday evening of creativity and fun later this month on February 22 anytime from 5-7 PM upstairs at the library!

We had another great turnout for Book Bingo yesterday evening. Whether you’re a frequent flyer or maybe just want to try something new out in the community that the whole family can enjoy, we hope to see you for Book Bingo next Thursday (2/15) or next month on March 5 (Tuesday) and/or March 21 (Thursday) all at 6 PM!

Join us tomorrow afternoon for Mahjong! This new program for adults is held at the library every Wednesday from 1-3 PM. If you’d like to learn the American version of this game, sign up is a must so please stop by the library, give us a call, or send an email to shamokincoallibrary@gmail.com.

Come and warm up at the library with Book Bingo tomorrow evening (2/6) at 6 PM. Even if you don’t win any rounds, you’ll still be able to pick out a book of your choice to take home!

This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read “Sweet Hearts” and later crafted some Valentine’s Day cards just like in the book! Preschool Storytime & Movement is held every Monday morning upstairs at the library starting at 10 AM.

Join us at the library next Saturday (2/10) at 10 AM for a Valentine’s Day kid’s craft! This month we’ll be painting ceramic hearts, so wearing some older clothes may be in order. Space is limited and sign up is required. Be sure to claim your spot soon by giving us a call or sending an email to the address listed below!
