Sharing the Love of Reading

We’re all decorated for Valentine’s Day at the library! Stop by this month for books, programs, and more all while taking in and admiring the excellent decorating job done by our wonderful staff. Stay up to date with everything going on at your local library and always remember to share your love of reading with others!

Blind Date with a Book

To kick off the month of February, come down to the library and pick out your “Blind Date with a Book” selection from our front display area! Each book has a hint concerning what it’s about written on the outside, so it’s up to you to decide which one sparks your interest based on the clue.

Once you’ve read the book, be sure to fill out the “Rate Your Date” bookmark inside and return it for a chance to win a special prize at the end of the month!

Take Your Child to the Library Day (2/3/24)

“Reading has astonishing benefits for children: comfort and reassurance, confidence and security, relaxation, happiness and fun. Giving a child time and full attention when reading them a story tells them they matter. It builds self-esteem, vocabulary, feeds imagination and even improves their sleeping patterns.”-National Literacy Trust

Healing Chair Yoga

Healing Chair Yoga sessions with instructor KymBre Shingara are being held at the library with dates available through March! Classes are held on Monday afternoons from 4:15-5:15 PM at a cost of $10 per class. All adults and abilities welcome!

LEGO Club at the Library

We had a very enthusiastic group last night at the library of familiar friends along with new faces we hope to see again at LEGO Club. Catch us again for another Thursday evening of creativity and fun next month on February 8 and 22 anytime from 5-7 PM upstairs at the library!

Mahjong for Beginners

Yesterday afternoon we held our first Mahjong for Beginners class at the library! This new program for adults will be held every Wednesday afternoon from 1-3 PM going forward. If you’d like to learn the American version of this game, please stop by the library or give us a call at 570-648-3202 as sign up is a must!

Monday Morning Fun at the Library

This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read a book all about Valentine’s Day, sang our songs, and then even did a little coloring before wrapping up with our snack.

Preschool Storytime & Movement is held upstairs at the library every Monday morning at 10 AM and is a fantastic way to introduce your child to the library and all it has to offer!
