We hope that everyone that attended the library’s fall children’s craft this morning had a wonderful time and were able to take home some memorable keepsakes to enjoy throughout the coming season!
A special thanks goes to the Northumberland County Council for the Arts & Humanities for partnering with us for this event.

There’s still time to sign up for the upcoming children’s craft to be held this Saturday at the library! While this is a free event, we do ask that children are signed up ahead of time. Registration can be done either in person at the library’s front desk or over the phone (570-648-3202).

The library will be hosting local author Harry Deitz, Jr. for a book signing next Saturday (9/17) at 11 AM.
His recent publication, “Covey: A Stone’s Throw from a Coal Mine to the Hall of Fame”, examines the life of Shamokin native Stan Coveleski and charts one man’s journey from working as a breaker boy in the coal mines to pitching for several major league baseball teams throughout his storied career.
Copies of the book will be available at the library for $21.25

Come out to the library this evening at 6 PM for Book Bingo! All ages are welcome at this free event where rounds of bingo are played and the prizes are books. Best of all, even if you don’t win any rounds you’ll still be able to go home with a book of your choice to keep!

Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library will be CLOSED tomorrow (9/5/22) in observance of Labor Day.
Coming up later this week:
Tuesday, Sept. 6: Book Bingo (6 PM)
Thursday, Sept. 8: LEGO Club (6 PM)
Saturday, Sept. 10: Fall Children’s Craft (10 AM)

Are you curious about your ancestral roots but aren’t quite sure how to get started? If so, join us at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library on September 20th at 6 PM for a Genealogy Workshop.
The library will be hosting Louise Latshaw and John Lindermuth of the Northumberland County Historical Society for this event. This team will be providing those attending with tips/best practices for discovering and documenting your family’s past.
To sign up for this free event please visit us at the library or call 570-648-3202.

Give us a call or stop by the library to sign up your child for our upcoming fall children’s craft to be held on Saturday, September 10th at 10 AM!
