Library Service Information:
• Children must be age 3 or older (and accompanied by parent or guardian) to sign up for a library card.
• The library now services all residents of Northumberland County and thus the annual $10.00 fee for residents living outside of the school district has been eliminated.
• Adult patrons are permitted to check out a total of 8 items at a time. Movies must be checked out on an adult card and are limited to 2 movies at a time. Juvenile patrons are permitted to check out 6 books at a time and may not check out movies.
•As long as a patron’s fine balance remains under $5.00, all library privileges (checking out books, movies, audiobooks, and computer use) will still be available for the patron. Once a patron’s fine balance hits $5.00, however, all library privileges will be suspended until the balance is lowered beneath the $5.00 threshold. Lost or heavily damaged items will still require a full replacement fee from the patron. For larger fines, payment plans will be available on a case-by-case basis.
• Check out the official Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library page on Facebook for upcoming events for both children and adults!
Adult Book Clubs

“Cookbook Book Club” typically meets the 4th Monday of every month at 6 PM with each month having a particular theme to follow when preparing food to bring and share with everyone!

Bloomsburg Children’s Museum & Lewisburg Children’s Museum Family Day Pass Opportunities
Also now available at our library is a family day pass for Bloomsburg Children’s Museum! This pass grants free entry to up to 5 guests and can be checked out for 1 week. If someone happens to have the pass out, you can always place a hold on it and we’ll let you know what weeks/dates are available and when the pass can be picked up.
Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library is once again offering a great opportunity to area families with the Lewisburg Children’s Museum Cultural Pass Program!
This family day pass waives all admission fees for up to 4 guests at a time and children 2 and under are always free. Passes are valid for general admission only and do not cover special events/programs, classes, or workshops hosted at the museum. The pass can be checked out for 1 week and then is to be promptly returned to the library just like you’d check out and later return a book.
Please be sure to return the pass in a timely manner so that as many families as possible can take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to explore, learn, and grow! ![]()
