Mark your calendars for another exciting event that’s coming up during the next few weeks! Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library in partnership with the NCCAH will be hosting a Family Fairy Garden event at Claude Kehler Community Park on Wednesday, June 22nd at 10 AM.

This offsite event presents a wonderful opportunity for children and their family members to really get in touch with their creative sides and the finished fairy gardens that are taken home will no doubt be delightful additions to everyone’s summer season!

However, space is limited to just 20 children so be sure to sign up at the library soon before all the slots have been claimed. Since this event involves a wide range of materials, there is a $5 charge due at sign up.

Be sure to claim your spot for this joint event and we’ll see you all at Claude Kehler Community Park in a few weeks for some fairy garden fun!

In honor of Father’s Day, bring Dad to the library for some Saturday morning donuts and a craft. This is a free event and all are welcome to join us this Saturday (6/11) at 10 AM!

The Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library would like to thank volunteers from M&T Bank for presenting the forum earlier this afternoon covering identity theft and fraud prevention. For those of you out there that may have been unable to make it to today’s event, there will be another forum held later this month.

The next identity theft and fraud prevention forum presented by M&T Bank volunteers will be held Wednesday, June 29th at 5 PM upstairs at the library!

**REMINDER** Book Bingo will be held at the library starting at 6 PM tomorrow (5/3) evening. All materials (bingo cards, chips, etc.) will be provided. This is a free event and all ages are welcome!

**REMINDER** Volunteers from M&T Bank will be giving 2 separate free presentations throughout the month of June covering ideal methods and best practices for keeping your identity/personal information secure. The first of these presentations is this coming Tuesday (June 7th) at 2 PM at the library!

Thank you to Samantha Zlotorzynski and the Penn State Extension organization for bringing the “Introduction to Preserving” workshop to our library and community! Those that attended were provided with the latest science and best practices on safe canning, freezing, and drying. This workshop was a wonderful source of food safety tips and a fine introduction to preserving nutritious and delicious food.

Congratulations to the winners of the library’s recent 50/50 raffle (Costa) and Bucket-O-Lotto (Ferentz) sweepstakes.

We’d also like to thank the winner of the 50/50 raffle for her generosity in donating the winnings right back to the library!
