A Very Merry Monday Morning at the Library!

It may not have felt like spring this morning, but our Preschool Storytime & Movement friends got into the spring spirit nonetheless by crafting some lovely little paper plate chicks! If you’ve got a child or grandchild that’s of preschool age, be sure to catch us sometime at 10 AM on a Monday morning for a story, interactive songs, cute crafts, and of course a snack.

Additionally, congratulations to Jesse (pictured below) on finishing a vibrant 300 piece puzzle of Times Square today at the library!

Congratulations to you Jesse!

April Kid’s Craft

Join us at the library for another kid’s craft program coming up in early April. This month we’ll be making spring themed items including chicks made from yarn and cute little bunnies that have taken a tumble into a flower pot!
This is a free program though we do ask that parents/guardians sign up their child ahead of time either at the circulation desk or by calling 570-648-3202.
Crafting programs like this are made possible through the library’s partnership with the Northumberland County Council for the Arts & Humanities!

Spring Into Spring!

Yesterday evening at the library we had a splendid time crafting some spring décor pieces! This month’s craft had a “Spring Into Spring” theme which included a nest, eggs, and assorted greenery all perched upon an actual metal spring. As always, very special thanks to the NCCAH for partnering with the library and allowing creative programs like this to be available!

Harry Deitz Book Signing!

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to author Harry Deitz, Jr. and his father Harry Deitz, Sr. for visiting our library this morning. The book signing for the author’s “Our Father’s Journey: A Path Out of Poverty” was a lovely event that was enthusiastically attended by folks from all over the community and surrounding areas. If you’d like to snag a copy of the book, the library still has a few copies available for purchase!

Harry Deitz, Jr. Book Signing This Saturday

**REMINDER** This Saturday (3/19) at 10 AM the library will be hosting a book signing with author Harry Deitz, Jr.

His recent publication, “Our Father’s Journey: A Path Out of Poverty”, shares the life story of his father (Harry Deitz, Sr.) from his humble beginnings in Coal Township in the 1920s, through the financial hardships of the Great Depression, a period of military service as a young man, and later onto starting a family of his own. All the while, Mr. Deitz carved out a long and successful newspaper career that established him as a prominent member of his community which he remains today.

This account of one man’s life, the numerous challenges he faced along the way, and his steadfast commitment to improving his station in life is a testament to the power of hard work and determination.

The library is currently selling copies of the book for $16.99 (plus tax) at the circulation desk. Be sure to pick up your own personal copy and have your questions ready for the author on March 19th!

What’s Happening at the Library

There’s only a few more days left until the library’s St. Patrick’s Day holiday tree transforms into an Easter tree, so there’s still time for you to drop by and color an ornament!

Don’t forget that there’s still time to sign up for our upcoming adult crafting event that will be held this coming Tuesday (3/22) at 5 PM. Sign up is required and the fee to cover materials is $5.

Additionally, enjoy the latest pics from our recurring Monday morning Preschool Storytime & Movement program which is held each week at 10 AM!
