We had quite a festive Valentine’s Day party this morning today at the library! Lots of sweet treats for everyone to take home as well as a craft. Today is your last chance to come by and see our Valentine’s Day holiday tree before it transforms in time for St. Patrick’s Day!

We had a lovely evening yesterday at the library creating unique pieces of doily art! Supplied with doilies, fabric strips, and tons of buttons, the evening produced works of art depicting flowers, abstract scenes, and everything in between. Special thanks to the Northumberland County Council for the Arts & Humanities for teaming up with us for this event. As always, keep an eye out for future crafting events at your local library!

We’d like to congratulate Kaisen Kline, the very first honoree of the library’s new “Birthday Book Club” initiative! This donation in honor of Kaisen’s birthday was made my his grandparents, Sue “Mimi” and Bill “Pap Pap” Knapick of Coal Township.
The “Birthday Book Club” is a wonderful way for moms and dads, grandparents, or anyone who has a special child in their life to celebrate a special day while also supporting the library. Once a book is purchased, a book plate inside the book will indicate both the name of the child and the donor. For more information on this initiative, please contact the library at 570-648-3202.

We hope everyone that came out for our children’s craft this evening had a fantastic time! Each child most certainly went home with a personalized Valentine’s Day card made with love that they can give to someone special in their life on Valentine’s Day. As always, keep an eye out for future events held at your local public library! Special thanks to members of the Northumberland County Council for the Arts & Humanities for helping us make events like this possible.

There’s always something going on at your local library! Monday mornings at 10 AM our Preschool Storytime & Movement program is held in the children’s section of the library on the second floor. This weekly event offers a story, lots of fun songs to sing and dance to, a craft, and of course a snack. Here’s some pics of our most recent time together!

Tax season is rapidly approaching! If you are a senior citizen or have someone in your life that is, help with taxes can be found at the library. An AARP tax prep assistant will be taking appointments at the library starting this Monday (2/7). To schedule an appointment, please call 570-799-5468.

The children’s craft planned for this morning will now be held this coming Tuesday (2/8) at 5 PM so there’s still time to sign up! The library will be open normal Saturday hours today from 9 AM to 1 PM.
