All of us here at the Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library wish everyone throughout the community a refreshing, relaxing, and rejuvenating remainder of the holiday weekend. As a reminder, the library will indeed be open our regular hours this coming Monday (4/18).
As spring slowly but surely blooms into summer, be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming events offered by the library or hosted by others within the building!
**REMINDER** On this coming Monday (4/18), a group of students from Bucknell University will be holding an event at the library designed to provide informational materials to residents in Shamokin/Coal Township about the benefits of weatherization and energy efficiency. The program will start at 2:30 PM and is a free event.
Don’t forget that it’s now easier than ever to get a library card at the Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library! As long as a child is at least 3 years old, resides within Northumberland County and is accompanied by a parent/guardian carrying two forms of identification, they’re eligible for a free library membership/card and the endless opportunities that it offers.
Whether you’re new to the area or have lived around here all your life, stop by the library and get yourself a card!

Book Bingo at the Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library continues! Our next evening of bingo at the library will be held April 21st (Thursday) at 6 PM. This is a free event with no signup required so you can simply show up and play! All bingo cards and cover chips will be provided.
As always, we’ll have a wide variety of books available as prizes for all the lucky winners!
Future Book Bingo dates include: May 3rd (Tuesday), May 19th (Thursday), June 7th (Tuesday), and June 16th (Thursday) all at 6 PM on the second floor of the library.

We had a surprise egg hunt this morning to close out our weekly Preschool Storytime & Movement program! Although the library will be closed Good Friday (4/15) we will be open regular hours on Saturday and Monday. So if you’ve got a little one, come see us for a story, songs, crafts, and snacks on Monday morning at 10 AM!
We hope everyone who attended the children’s craft yesterday had a delightful time! Those who attended were able to take home both a festive yarn chick and a bunny in a flower pot. A huge thank you goes to the NCCAH as our partners in making events like this possible.
We are very thankful for the wonderful turnout as it was a perfect way to wrap up National Library Week!
