We’ll Miss You Mrs. Sickora!

Yesterday morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we celebrated our very own Mrs. Sickora as she will soon be moving out of the area. Over the last 7 years, Joyce has been a tireless volunteer at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library and her love of caring for children has been a blessing beyond words for the library and our community.

We will miss getting to see our beloved Mrs. Sickora on Monday mornings and at other children’s programs, but will forever cherish all the fun times, excitement, confidence, and nourishment she’s given countless children across the area and beyond for so many years. 🥰❤️⭐️💖

Fall Kid’s Craft

We hope everyone had a wonderful time at the most recent kid’s craft on Saturday! The craft this month was a handheld scarecrow mask to usher in the fall season in style. Thank you to our partners at Northumberland County Council For the Arts and Humanities for teaming up with us to make programs like this possible!

Kid’s Craft This Saturday (9/21/24)

Just a reminder there’s a scarecrow kid’s craft coming up at the library this Saturday (9/21) at 10 AM. Using simple materials in a novel way, you’ll be all set for the fall season with your own customized googly-eyed friend!

Space is limited and sign-up is required, so be sure to claim a spot as soon as you can by either stopping by the library or reaching out over the phone!

Cookbook Book Club Next Week

Cookbook Book Club will be meeting at the library this coming Monday (9/23) at 6 PM and will be all about pumpkin based delights! Everyone is encouraged to bring a prepared dish from their own recipe collection or one selected from our many local cookbooks. For additional info or to sign up, stop by the library or give us a call!

Community Halloween Costume Giveaway

The Halloween Costume Giveaway hosted at the library this past Saturday saw over 100 costumes distributed over the course of just two hours. With a wide variety of new or lightly used costumes available in all different sizes to choose from, there was truly something for everyone!

A huge thank you goes out to organizers Lauren Zimmerman, Maria James, Lindsay Thomas, and Heather Krebs for putting together the initial costume collection event that took place last November and for volunteering their time and effort to ensure the recent giveaway was also a huge success. Hopefully this community minded event helped out as many families as possible and will continue for years to come!
