Yesterday morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read “Five Flying Turkeys” and later everyone got to color a turkey of their own. We also celebrated a 4th birthday with some tasty cupcakes!
Preschool Storytime & Movement is held at the library every Monday morning starting at 10 AM and always features a story, songs, craft, and a snack!

Come out to the library tomorrow evening (11/7) for Book Bingo starting at 6 PM. Even if you don’t win any rounds, you’ll still be able to pick out a book of your choice to take home!

Join us at the library for Healing Chair Yoga with instructor KymBre Shingara tomorrow afternoon! Classes are held from 4:15-5:15 PM on Mondays with the current cycle of classes wrapping up later this month. All adults and abilities welcome!

Be sure to stop by the library this month if you’ve got little ones as we’ve got lots of fun Thanksgiving books available for the kids!

With Halloween having come and gone, your child’s costume now has another chance to be worn and loved all over again next year! Please consider donating new or gently used costumes so that as many children as possible throughout our community can have the chance to dress up next year.
Halloween costumes can be dropped off at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library on Saturday, November 11 from 10 AM to 12 PM and will be given away next fall. This effort is being organized by local business owner Lauren Zimmerman and Shamokin Area teacher Maria James. For more information please call 570-898-3921.

Looking to research your family history? Shamokin-Coal Township Public library is just the place to go! Our library offers free public access to the Ancestry Library Edition’s online database. This means that thousands of records including births/deaths, marriages, census data, and so much more can be easily retrieved with just a few simple steps!

Don’t forget that the library will be open special hours tomorrow (10/31) that will differ from normal Tuesday/Thursday evening hours. We will be open from 9:30 AM-5 PM so please keep this in mind if you need to grab books, movies, or use the computer tomorrow.
To all the trick-or-treaters out there, we wish you a festive, fun, and safe evening!

Keep up to date with everything happening at your local library this November! Printed event calendars are readily available at the front desk along with handouts that include additional information about upcoming programs and events.
