Fairy Garden Craft at the Park

Check out all of these beautiful fairy garden projects! With a wide variety of materials to choose from, everyone was able to fashion their fairy garden into a unique creation all its own. We send our thanks as always to the Northumberland County Council for the Arts for partnering with the library and helping us make opportunities like this possible!

Catapulting Into Summer!

We’ve launched into summer with help from our handmade catapults! With only a few different parts put together in just the right way, this engineering challenge introduced everyone to the world of simple machines, how they work, and what they can be used for. We send our thanks to Bloomsburg Children’s Museum for helping us bring educational programs like this into the community!

Oceans of Possibilities at the Library

Check out these underwater scenes we made this morning at story time! With a variety of fish, sharks, jellyfish, starfish, seahorses, and even some octopi to pick from, everyone ended up with little oceans of their own that are overflowing with marine life.

Don’t forget that Preschool Storytime & Movement is held at the library every Monday at 10 AM, including straight on through the summer months!

Heart & Soul Chair Yoga Continues Through June

Summer ’23 officially arrives this week! Start your summer season by joining us for Heart & Soul Chair Yoga with instructor KymBre Shingara. Held on Monday mornings at the library all through June, sessions run from 8:15-9:00 AM with doors opening at 8:00 AM.

Book Bingo Summer Sabbatical

We had lots of fun at Book Bingo last week and are looking forward to when our evenings together will start back up again in September. Our timeless trio (Mary, Terri, & Deb) of bingo callers will be taking July and August off as Summer Reading 2023 will be in full swing.

Although there won’t be any Book Bingo dates formally scheduled/listed again until September 5 (Tuesday) and September 21 (Thursday) at 6 PM, keep an eye out for announcements about dates/times of potential surprise popup Book Bingo sessions that may quite possibly crop up throughout the summer!

Preschool Storytime & Movement Every Monday

Join us nearly every single Monday morning at 10 AM for Preschool Storytime & Movement! This free program is a great way to introduce your child to the library and everything it has to offer. We listen to a story, sing songs, make a craft, and of course provide a little snack to wrap up our weekly time together.

This coming Monday we’ll be reading the book “Fabulous Fishes” and then assembling our own unique underwater scenes with lots of different ocean pals to choose from. Recurring programs like this give kids the chance to develop their emerging social skills and are a fantastic way to jumpstart a lifelong love of reading, learning, and the library!

Thank You Sierra Club of Northeast PA

The library would like to thank the Sierra Club of Northeast PA for their recent donation of the children’s title “Where’s Rodney?” which highlights the importance and educational value of outdoors experiences for children.

Pictured is Sierra Club member Lana Gulden presenting the book to Library Director Ben Shemory. Also pictured are young readers Asher Seiler (left) and David Britton (right).

Monday Mornings at the Library

We had lots of fun at Preschool Storytime & Movement this morning! After reading “Chika Chika Boom Boom” and singing our songs, we all worked on some colorful crafts before settling in for snack time.

A very special thank you goes to Zeke and his mother for providing cake pops in celebration of his 4th birthday!
