Reptiland Visits the Library

It was a tale of scales this morning at the library featuring all sorts of cold-blooded creatures from Reptiland! We got to see and learn about different kinds of lizards, turtles, snakes, and even got to pet an alligator. And as always, we wrapped up the morning with a tasty treat!

Summer Reading Week 3: Reptiland

Join us for Summer Reading Week 3 at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library! This week we will be hosting Reptiland and their special presentation “Reptiles: The Beautiful & the Deadly” featuring a host of different creatures we’ll get to see and learn about.

Just like last week, registration/check-in will start at 9:30 AM and then the program will begin promptly at 10 AM. If you completed the reading log, please be sure to show it to us when signing in so that you can get a sticker for your log and the chance to enter our grand prize raffle from which several lucky winners will be drawn at the end of our time together this summer.

Following the Reptiland program and a snack, all those that completed their reading for the week will be able to select a free book for their home library or something from the prize box. We hope to see you all tomorrow morning!

Happy Birthday Mrs. Sickora!

This morning at Preschool Storytime & Movement we read a book all about the outdoors, especially the fireflies that light up our skies this time of year. Following our firefly craft, we capped off the morning with a very, very special celebration.

Our beloved volunteer Mrs. Joyce Sickora recently had a birthday and we all wanted to help her celebrate in style at a place where she is loved so much! 🥰🧁🎂

ZooAmerica Visits Library

Summer Reading Week 2 featured quite the cast of characters! ZooAmerica visited us this morning with their “Paws, Claws, Scales, & Tails” program which featured a stick insect, an albino kingsnake, a turtle, a skunk, and a bat. We got to learn a little bit about each animal, where they live, and how they live.

Those that completed the reading log for this week got to pick something from our prize box or the chance to select a book to keep for their libraries at home. If you didn’t complete your log for the first week, you can always complete it this coming week and present it to us at check-in next Wednesday morning!
