Lighting the Way!

Yesterday evening at STEM we explored the world of circuitry and how every little piece works together to power our daily lives. As always, thank you to Bloomsburg Children’s Museum for helping us bring educational opportunities like this into the community!

Discovery Awaits!

Just a reminder that the library is offering our patrons this fantastic new opportunity! The Museum Cultural Pass program is part of Lewisburg Children’s Museum’s “Count Me In” initiative and provides free admission to the museum.

The Cultural Pass waives all admission fees for the whole family (4 people max, children age 2 and below are always free) at a time. Passes are valid for general admission only and do not cover special events/programs, classes, or workshops hosted at the museum. The pass can be checked out for 1 week and then is to be promptly returned to the library just like you’d check out and return a book. Please be sure to return the pass in a timely manner so that as many families as possible can take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to explore, learn, and grow!

Book Bingo Coming Back!

Come out to the library Thursday evening (8/17) for Book Bingo starting at 6 PM! This free event where rounds of bingo are played and the prizes are books is starting back up again after most of the summer off. Even if you don’t win any rounds, you’ll still be able to pick out a book of your choice to take home!

Opportunities in Your Neighborhood

Free passes for the whole family to Bloomsburg Children’s Museum are available at the library!

Passes are valid for general admission only and do not cover special events/programs, classes, or workshops hosted at the museum. These passes can be checked out for 1 week and then are to be promptly returned to the library just like you’d check out and return a book. Please be sure to return the passes in a timely manner so that as many families as possible can take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to play, learn, and discover together!

Summer Reading 2023 Comes to a Close

We had a splendid time at our Summer Reading wrap-up party! The morning included an ice cream bar, balloon animals, and a photobooth with all sorts of props amongst various other fun activities.

Congratulations to all those who did their reading week to week in order to earn books for their home library and other incentive prizes. Thank you to everyone for coming along this summer!

Congrats Kids!

Congrats to these lucky tablet winners that did their reading over the summer! Once again, we send our sincerest thanks to Jack Richford whose generosity allowed us to double up on our grand prizes this year. More party pictures to come!

Summer Reading Week 6: Party!

Join us for Summer Reading Week 6 at Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library! This will be our final Wednesday morning “All Together Now” for the summer and we’ll be celebrating with a wrap-up party. Included will be an ice cream sundae bar, music, balloon artist, photobooth, and more!

If you completed the reading log for this week, please be sure to show it to us when signing in so that you can receive one last chance to enter your name into our grand prize raffle of Amazon Fire HD 8 tablets. We will be drawing the winners tomorrow morning towards the end of the event so be sure to listen for your name. Even if you aren’t one of the lucky winners, everyone will receive a small prize and free book before they leave!

Thank You!

We would like to extend an extra big thank you to local resident Jack Richford for his generous donation that has allowed us to purchase twice as many grand prizes than in previous summers. For each week they completed their reading log, readers received either a small incentive prize or a free book along with the chance to enter their name into our grand prize tablet raffle. Lucky winners will be drawn tomorrow during our Summer Reading 2023 wrap-up party!
