Stay up to date with everything happening at your local library this December!

Just in time for the holidays, we will be hosting a gingerbread house building craft in partnership with the Northumberland County Council for the Arts. This festive family craft will be held at the library on Saturday, December 17 at 10AM.
While this is a free program, families interested must sign up and are limited to one gingerbread house per family.

Do you enjoy couponing or have an interest in learning about this great way to save? If so, join us at the library on Tuesday, December 13th at 5PM for a free class all about couponing brought to us by Penn State Extension.
To sign up for this class, please either call 570-648-3202 or visit us at the library!

Don’t forget that the library is a designated drop off location for WISL’s “Letters to Santa” program so be sure to get your letters all filled out and dropped off at the library!

We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Lisa Eccker and Lorena Kutza for providing the library with a festive “Polar Express” themed tree and front window display. The next time you visit the library or are simply passing by, be sure to check out their exemplary handiwork!

Remember that tomorrow is Giving Tuesday! If you feel compelled to give back to your community this year, the public library is a fine organization to contribute to. All contributions to the library help us to fulfill our mission of providing free, equal, and confidential access to materials, information, and services in order to meet the educational, recreational, cultural, and social needs of our community and to support lifelong learning.

As a reminder to all of our regular attendees, the Preschool Storytime & Movement program will not be held tomorrow morning but will resume Monday, December 5th at 10AM!

Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library would like to thank Santa & Elfie for graciously visiting our library this season! Everyone got their chance to sit on Santa’s knee, share their Christmas wishes with him, and complete a cute craft afterword to take home.

Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library will be closed November 24th & 25th for Thanksgiving. We will resume regular hours on Saturday (11/26) and will be open from 9AM-1PM.
Be sure to join us from 10AM-12PM this Saturday for a children’s craft and a special visit from Santa!

We had a very adventurous evening yesterday at the library programming Edison robots during our monthly STEM event. Students were introduced to the basics of how simple robots can be coded to respond to sound, light, and even physical obstacles in their paths.
We send our thanks to Bloomsburg Children’s Museum for helping us bring educational programs like this into our community. As always, keep an eye out for next month’s STEM program as well as STEM events running all the way through 2023!
