Starting at noon tomorrow and running until 9 PM as part of the Independence on Independence event, the library will be selling chances to win a lottery tree! Tickets are $1 a piece or 6 tickets for $5. Tickets will be available all through next week and the winner will be drawn on Friday, July 9th. There will be a varied selection of books and movies for sale outside the library all day as well!

The library’s upcoming Family Fairy Garden Fun program at Claude Kehler Park on July 8th is just one week away! Beginning at 10 AM, this program is open to children (ages 5-12) along with accompanying family members and will provide attendees the opportunity to create their very own fairy gardens. For a small donation fee of $10, the library will provide all necessary materials including pots, plants, figurines, etc. Be sure to claim your spot and sign up either over the phone or in person at the library as materials are limited. We hope to see you at Claude Kehler for some Family Fairy Garden Fun!

Remember to sign up your children for Summer Reading 2021 either over the phone or at the library. Our kickoff date for this year is Wednesday, July 7th and that’ll be here in just a few short weeks! Every Wednesday at 10 AM from July 7th through August 11th the library will be hosting a slew of different presenters free of charge for all those attending. Additionally, children can work towards a variety of different prizes by logging the number of minutes they read each week!

While our designated age range is specified as grades K-6, both younger and older siblings are more than welcome to sign up and attend the programs as well as complete reading logs to work towards prizes.

Our theme this summer is “Tails and Tales” and thus some weeks will feature animal puppet friends or even live animals! Be sure to sign up, mark your calendars, and get ready for Summer Reading 2021!

The library’s children’s section on the second floor is officially back up and running! Whether your child is a fan of puzzles, building blocks, or trains, there’s certainly something for everyone to enjoy while they pick out their books. Furniture has thankfully been put back in place so there’s plenty of room to sit and color too if you’d like. We look forward to seeing you all throughout the summer and beyond!

Whether you’re an experienced knitter or just starting out, the Knitting Club invites you to the library every Wednesday at 1 o’clock. Sessions are held on the first floor of the library and individuals of all skill levels are welcome to attend!
